TOM GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE TO INCREASE HOLIDAY PATROLS

Date Posted: 12/15/2021

As we prepare for the 2021 holiday season, we at the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office want to remind everyone to be responsible and drive safely.  Millions of Americans will be traveling to visit friends and family over the holidays.  The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, in a partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation, will be participating in the Impaired Driver Mobility campaign.  The campaign will be conducted through January 1, 2022.  The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office will actively participate in the campaign by increasing patrol in an effort to detect and deter impaired drivers this holiday season.  Motorists are reminded to plan ahead, call for a ride, or have a designated driver available.  Driving impaired does not just mean alcohol.  Prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and marijuana can also impair a driver, especially in combination with alcohol and other drugs.  The holidays are a time for celebration with loved ones, but we ask that you celebrate responsibly.  Alcohol related traffic crashes not only effect you, they also impact every family member and friend related to all of the parties involved.  The safety of the public is the primary concern of the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, and we want to wish everyone a safe holiday season.
