Courthouse Security

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Courthouse Security Division has the responsibility of preserving the security and safety of all people entering or within the County Courthouse and outbuildings of the overall Justice Center. The Division is overseen by the Sheriff's Office Operations Lieutenant.  The courthouse security staff consists of 1 Sergeant and 6 Deputies, with multiple Bailiffs assigned within the area as well. A diligent screening process is utilized to prevent dangerous weapons and/or contraband from entering the facilities. 

Citizens are not allowed to bring any weapons (including any edged or pointed items) into the courthouse, and are asked to limit the amount of metal they carry to facilitate a quick and efficient screening process.
