TOM GREEN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE MAKES ARREST FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

In December 2019, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office, in response to a Cybertip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, initiated an investigation pertaining to the distribution of images of child exploitation.  The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division identified the suspect of the investigation in May 2020.  After meeting with and interviewing the suspect, a search of a residence was conducted and three cellular phones were seized as evidence.  The investigation continued involving agents of the Texas Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security Investigations.  Further investigation revealed numerous media files of child exploitation and child pornography. 

The investigation culminated in a Federal Grand Jury indictment of Tom Green County resident, Richard Eugene Turner on a charge of Possession of Child Pornography.  Turner was arrested on July 28, 2021 and booked into the Tom Green County Detention Center.
