The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office would like to acknowledge the public's assistance in identifying suspects involved in the theft of a custom-made belt and gold and silver belt buckle belonging to Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) Clown Justin Rumford. Rumford was in San Angelo performing as the main entertainment attraction at this year's 84th San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo.

The belt and buckle were taken from the San Angelo Coliseum the first week of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. They were recovered late Thursday night at a residence in San Angelo.

The items taken were valued in excess of $10,000 dollars but also had a sentimental value to the Rumford family. The buckle was awarded to him by the PRCA as Clown of the Year in 2012, one of the most prestigious awards presented by the PRCA.

The case was assigned to Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigator Sgt. Corey Speck and was assisted by Sgt. Investigator Gary Cole. Together the two investigators were able to follow the leads provided by the public and recover the stolen belt and buckle.

This is a continuing investigation, and additional items are expected to be recovered.   Due to the ongoing investigation names of the suspect and information about the case are being withheld at this time.
