SHERIFF'S OFFICE SEARCH WARRANT RESULTS IN CONTROLLED SUSBSTANCE ARREST AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLE

On Friday, January 31, 2025, as a result of an ongoing narcotics investigation, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant in the 700 block of West 17th Street, San Angelo, Texas. During the execution of the warrant, Investigators located and seized suspected methamphetamine and evidence of the sale and/or distribution.  As a result of the search warrant, Amanda Burney and Phoebe Thomerson were arrested.  

Amanda Burney, 38 years of age, was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance <1g.  

Phoebe Thomerson, 46 years of age, was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance >=1G<4G.    

Investigators also recovered a stolen, 2021 GMC Denali pickup out of Ector County.   

Investigators with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division led the investigation and were assisted by Deputies with the Patrol Division and Special Agents with the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Division (CID).  

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office would also like to thank the public for the support and information that contributes to the success of the Sheriff's Office's ongoing efforts to combat drugs and crime within San Angelo and the Tom Green County area.   This remains an active investigation.  Additional charges and arrests may be forthcoming.
