SHERIFF'S OFFICE TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN LARGE DRUG SEIZURE

In the early hours of Thursday, August 15, 2024, at approximately 1:48 AM, deputies from the Tom Green County Sheriff's Officers conducted a routine traffic stop that resulted in a significant drug seizure.  During the stop, officers discovered and seized over 500 grams of methamphetamine—the driver, identified as 28-year-old, Antonio Leal, of Abilene, was taken into custody and is facing charges related to drug trafficking.  Cell phones and cash were additionally seized during the stop.   

The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office remains committed to keeping our community safe and will continue to pursue those involved in the illegal drug trade.
