SHERIFF'S OFFICE SWEARS IN TWO NEW DEPUTIES AND ANNOUNCES COMMAND STAFF PROMOTIONS
In a ceremony held this morning at the Ed B. Keys building, the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office conducted Oath of Office ceremonies for two new sheriff's deputies and announced promotions to the command staff of the Tom Green County Detention Center.
Sworn in were Deputies Frank Hernandez and Jerry Robertson. Deputy Hernandez comes to the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office as a five-year veteran, having most recently worked at the Marfa Police Department. Deputy Robertson recently graduated from the Concho Valley Regional Law Enforcement Academy and has worked as a correctional officer in the Tom Green County Detention Center. Both deputies will be assigned to the patrol division.
Roxann Sloan was promoted to the position of Crisis Intervention Unit Coordinator. Sloan began her career as a volunteer for the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office in October of 2017, as a Volunteer Victim Advocate. One year later she became the Assistant Coordinator of the CIU unit. Today, she officially became the CIU Coordinator. Sloan holds a Bachelor of Science from Angelo State University and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office Crisis Intervention Unit responds to calls from local law enforcement agencies in Tom Green County and provides a liaison to assist and work with victims of family violence as well as other crime victims.
Correctional Officer Christina Guiliano was promoted to the position of Corporal/Jail Programs Coordinator. Guiliano began her career with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office in November of 2017 as a Corrections Officer. The Jail Programs Coordinator develops and implements educational, vocational, and rehabilitative inmate programs to help reduce recidivism. Among other duties, the position addresses inmate mental health needs while incarcerated by selecting programs based on behavior, needs, and abilities.
Lieutenant Nicole Dudley was promoted from Corrections Lieutenant to Corrections Captain. Dudley is an eighteen-year veteran of the Tom Green County Detention Center and has worked her way up from the position of Corrections Officer.
Captain Todd A. Allen was promoted from Corrections Captain to Corrections Major. The position of Corrections Major was created to reflect the growing complexity of the Jail Administrator position. Major Allen began his career with the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office in January of 1998. He has served as the president of the Texas Jail Association in 2018 and on May 13 of this year, he received the first-ever, Distinguished Service Award in recognition of his exceptional service and commitment to the Texas Jail Association.
