Carroll was charged with one count of Online Solicitation of a Minor. On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Carroll was released from jail on a $45,000 bond.

During a subsequent investigation, it was determined Carroll was in possession of child pornography and later found to have produced it. Carroll was subsequently re-arrested on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, on a federal detainer and re-booked into the Tom Green County Jail.

Today, December 12, 2024, Joshua Carroll was sentenced at the George H.
