Aggravated Assault With Deadly Weapon

On Sunday, October 9, 2016, an early morning bar encounter between two groups of individuals that knew each other led to text messaging exchanges between the parties. The parties met in a front yard on Sage Road, off of Grape Creek Road, to confront each other and settle differences.   Tommy Lee McCutchen and Matthew Brown are residents of the Sage Road address. Four people arrived at the residence in a vehicle driven by Jared Lohse to confront McCutchen and Brown. Both parties were armed with weapons.  

 

Tom Green County Deputies were dispatched to the scene at 2:32 AM Sunday morning. On arrival the deputies found two victims of what appeared to be a front yard brawl. A female, identified as Amber Robertson, was shot in the chest and a male, identified as Matthew Brown, was stabbed twice in the altercation. Both victims were treated at Shannon Medical Center. Brown was treated and released; Robertson is still being treated for her injuries.

 

So far, three individuals have been arrested for their involvement in the brawl and Sheriff Jones is anticipating more arrest to follow at the completion of the investigation.

 

Jared Lohse was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Bodily Injury, a second degree felony. Bond was set at $20,000 dollars and Loshe has bonded out of the Tom Green County Jail.

 

Tommy Lee McCutchen was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Threats, a second degree felony; bond was set at $50,000. McCutchen was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a felon, a third degree felony; bond was set $25,000. McCutchen is also being held for a parole violation with no bond.

 

Matthew Brown was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Bodily Injury, second degree felony; bond was set at $20,000. Brown was also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a felon, a third degree felony; bond was set at $10,000.

 

As the investigation continues, more information on this case will be released.
