SUSPECT #1: Angel Trevino Torres, 10/14/84

On August 30, 2016, at approximately 2:40pm, members of the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, while conducting a separate felony investigation, located a 2005 Dodge being operated by ANGEL TORRES. TORRES attempted to drive away but was stopped and detained by the Investigators. While being detained for identification purposes, investigators observed in plain sight a loaded Glock handgun on the front passenger seat. The Glock pistol was reported as stolen during a burglary. Investigators conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and discovered 1.6 grams of methamphetamine. The vehicle being operated by TORRES had been reported as stolen earlier in the day to the San Angelo Police Department.

Torres was arrested and transported to the Tom Green County Jail without incident. TORRES was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Penalty Group 1>=1G<4G, a third degree felony offense and Theft of a Firearm, a state jail felony. Bond was set at $15,000 on each charge.
